Diabetic Insulin

For most type 1 diabetics, and some people with type 2, daily insulin injections are a way of life.

There are more than 20 types of insulin products available in four basic forms. The decision about which insulin to choose is based on an individual’s lifestyle, their doctor’s preference and experience, and the person's blood sugar levels.

All insulin delivery devices inject insulin into the fatty tissue just below the skin. Forms of insulin devices include syringes, insulin pens, jet injectors, or insulin pumps.

However, researchers are testing new methods of getting insulin into the bloodstream, including insulin patches and even inhalers. meaning diabetics may no longer have to inject themselves to get the insulin that their bodies require.
